PERFORMANCE STATEMENT
“Bound by Words” stems as a literal and tangible manifestation of the logical architecture of language. Its boarders take the perimeter of a rectangle, lit of the pulsing light of reason. The only form of guidance for the artist to navigate through the pitch black sea of the unknown. At the beginning nothing binds her will. But with time she begins to weave, threads of reason, tangling, words after words the substance less matter into a pattern of significance. Lines cross, overlay, cut and confine the space. With each definition logical connections, like binding vows, progressively restrict the performers body. No more space left for movements, the artists has exhausted the possible connections. In this labyrinthine net even the connections of the connections have lost their threads. All the sense in the world making perfectly no sense at all. At the end as she stares at her creation: at the visible pathways of logic, never clearer, never brighter, only then she realizes its forever incapability to change.
